Enjoying The Nice Weather

Taking advantage of our new picnic table and the terriffic stretch of weather we’ve been having, we opted to enjoy a wonderful meal in our backyard…

Tony manned the grill and did a heck of a job. From chicken to veggie kebabs, Tony kept everyone well fed and smiling. His smile is contagious!

Tony and Dan. Dan is visiting us from Boston as he makes his way across the country towards Alaska. He is a real joy to have. Tony and I  are going to be especially sad when he continues West. Until then, we’ll love his company!

Despite a rough ride number ten (he took a bit of a fall coming down Geddes), Jeff was all smiles with his bike.

May Day at Slocum House

What a wonderful event this evening. We hosted 50 just really great friends and family at a potluck at Brady celebrating Dorothy Day and the Catholic Worker movement.

A big thank you to the Brady Faith Center for hooking us up with tables and chairs for the evening.

We had a whole mess of food starting with Tony’s lemonade…

To two tables full of salads, pastas, and burgers/hot dogs/veggie burgers/tofu dogs…

to a sprawling table of desserts!

A big big thank you to Georgie, a Syracuse Jesuit Volunteer Corp member, for working the grill tonight. And now, just pictures…

Paul Frazier, longtime Jail Ministry worker and resident of the Slocum House with some wonderful words concerning Dorothy Day and the Catholic Worker movement.

Just a really special event. Thank you to everyone who made it possible.

Much much love,

Andrew
